Aside from the fact that Dr. Sadock likely saved my life and that of a neighbor, I am delighted to endorse his newest effort.  Bob has an amazing caring manner not seen these days in the medical world.  His incredible knowledge, analyses and networking is unmatched.  Whenever I have a medical issue or diagnosis, the first call I make is to Dr. Sadock and his team for their excellent opinions.

I can NOT thank Pilot Rock Medical Navigators ENOUGH for all the support, council, coordination, professional oversight and connections you made possible with the best of the best medical resources and providers. Additionally, you gave me the greatest gift of all, HOPE.  You have been my medical muse-personal life raft in this insidious, perilous journey and please know I do NOT know how I would have managed all of this without you as the medical navigator and advocate. Thanks SO much for caring & sharing. In lieu of a potentially risky surgery and subsequent unknown lifestyle impact, I am now leading my life with joy and positivity coupled with a medically coordinated 'watchful waiting' oversight and strategy. I am ETERNALLY grateful for it ALL !!

With gratitude,

David Smith

Following a skiing accident that left me with a complicated hand fracture, Pilot Rock Medical Navigators became my indispensable guide through the medical system labyrinth. I received an immediate initial diagnosis based on my ER X-ray; a recommendation for the best course of action and the best physician to undertake it; and help in coordinating surgery – all with the utmost professionalism and kindness. Within two days the operation was behind me.

Dr. Sadock, founder of Pilot Rock Medical Navigators, is not only a gifted medical professional but I know of no-one more dedicated to saving lives than Bob. He brings to bear brilliant problem-solving skills to each patient's healthcare challenge by conducting his own thorough research of each diagnosis. He then connects his patients to the best medical resources and doctors with the most extensive experience in treating specific, almost always, very complicated and life-threatening illnesses. In my case, he saved my life by recommending an immediate biopsy of my prostate, assisting me in properly evaluating the results and quickly connecting me with a world-class prostate surgeon. Due to the aggressive growth of my prostate cancer (not correctly diagnosed by two other expert urologists), I was scheduled for immediate surgery (at the height of the COVID epidemic) and am now cancer free after 3 years. Without any hesitation or reservation, I would urge individuals facing complicated healthcare diagnoses to consult with Dr. Sadock promptly. With deepest appreciation and gratitude, Tom Shull

In 2021, our son was just turning 8 years old. He had been a typically developing child who was active, funny, and loved learning. However, for many years we had known that something was “off” with his balance and coordination. He just couldn’t run, catch and climb like his peers.

After consulting physical and occupational therapists, our pediatrician and a neurologist, we were advised to get whole exome genetic testing done to find out the cause of our son’s difficulties. The results were devastating; he was diagnosed with an extremely rare neurological condition that is causing shrinkage in his cerebellum. The video call with our genetic counselor ended there. “The condition is progressive. It will only get worse. We wish you the best of luck.”

With no sense of direction, no game plan, and no support, we called Dr. Sadock immediately. He was calm. He listened. And then he got us organized. He helped us find our footing and make a plan of next steps. We were able to move forward and decide how to build a support team. Dr. Sadock was there to support us every step of the way. We are forever indebted to him for his time and patience and for giving us a sense that with some support and organization, we could find a way to deal with this diagnosis without panic or chaos. Thank you, Dr. Sadock, for helping to turn two devastated, terrified parents into calm, organized warriors who are now happy to pass your name on to others who may need your support.

I experienced the fear of a diagnosis that I knew nothing about. Due to an unusual vision problem I was sent to have an MRI. The MRI report said that I had a tumor in the pituitary section of my brain. As a young father, I was worried and frightened.  I had no medical knowledge and I didn’t know what to do. My eye doctor said that I would need a Neurologist. I didn’t know what a neurologist was.

I reached out to a family friend, Dr. Sadock. Dr. Sadock asked for copies of my MRI report and listened to my story of what I was experiencing.

A short time later, Dr Sadock contacted me to explain what the report showed and to discuss what I needed to do. Dr. Sadock offered his assistance with identifying the proper neurosurgeons that I would need. Dr. Sadock not only contacted them but set up appointments for me.

Afterwards, I discussed my doctor visits with Dr. Sadock and decided on a plan of action. In the end I traveled to Boston and underwent successful surgery and treatment for a pituitary tumor.

Dr Sadock’s experience and knowledge advised and educated me. He helped me navigate the medical system. He enabled me to make informed decisions for the path of medical care that I needed. My family and I will always be thankful. I would encourage anyone who needs medical guidance to seek out Dr. Sadock and Pilot Rock Medical Navigators.

As I sat in the emergency room of a major US teaching hospital, I grew increasingly anxious at what seemed to be the lack of urgency amongst attendant staff. This was the stroke I had been warned about two weeks earlier when I presented with what is commonly referred to as a “mini stroke” or TIA. Though my left side had once again become numb, I could still walk and talk without difficulty, so calling an ambulance seemed exaggerated. But as a walk-in patient, the lack of action was nothing short of unnerving. Fortunately, my son had called Dr Sadock, who knew of my earlier TIA, was familiar with my medical history and knew the names of my previous attending physicians. So when he heard I was back in the ER, he jumped into action, phoned the hospital’s head of neurology and within minutes I was being attended to.

The factors contributing to my stroke were not clear then and still remain somewhat of a mystery. But Sadock’s familiarity with the case offered me and those on duty a continuity that otherwise would have required a more thorough perusal of previous medical files. As test results came in, he helped me make sense of them and guided me in knowing what to ask of my care givers. I am also convinced that knowing my case was being monitored by “a faculty member of Yale Medical School” added to the care and attention I received. I am not a shrinking violet under any circumstances. I’m the director of an international NGO so very much used to making myself heard and speaking truth to power. But hospitals were for me terra incognita - so managing my way was full of unknowns. With Dr Sadock having my back, I was far better equipped to take that challenge by the horns.

It all began for my wife and me in 2013 when I faced major health crises involving a subdural hematoma, heart attack and lung embolism.  We turned to Dr. Bob Sadock, an extraordinary doctor and friend, who applied his tremendous medical knowledge and expertise and gave us concrete direction and oversight. He gave us the questions to ask, meticulously reviewed my medical reports, and made appointments with additional specialists at Yale. Dr. Sadock is an extremely professional and caring doctor who thinks outside the box, is always several steps ahead of other doctors, and excels at being a quarterback among medical specialists. He not only gave our family such an incredible peace of mind as we navigated through the maze of medical care, he was instrumental in saving my life!  Fast forward to more recent history….

In 2023, I experienced a longstanding condition involving multiple infections that over 10 years no one could figure out. A doctor’s visit in New York indicated that it could possibly be caused by Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), a cancerous condition. Due to my very positive prior experience with Dr. Sadock, I engaged Pilot Rock Medical Navigators (Dr. Sadock and Carol Kagdis, NP) in the hope that they could bring clarity and a diagnosis of my condition. They reviewed all of my medical records and prepared a very clear summary presentation of what they thought could be the cause. Based on their research they thought I had Monoclonal B Cell Lymphocytosis (MBL), a rare disease but not cancerous and quite treatable. Dr. Sadock then gave me and my wife a very thorough education about the disease, contacted and got me an appointment with one of the world’s leading MBL experts at Harvard’s Dana Farber Cancer Institute, provided me with key questions to ask the doctor, and was even able to move my appointment up from 7 months out to the next month. The end result was that the MBL diagnosis of Dr. Sadock and his team was confirmed.

A recent XR of my chest showed two fractured ribs which was quite worrisome to me as I could not think of anything that could have caused it, no trauma or fall or any other physical mishap. I was worried that it might be osteoporosis or weak bones from cancer that had spread. I contacted Dr. Sadock about this and he immediately sprung into action. The first thing he did was to contact and meet with the chief radiologist at Greenwich Hospital. Upon review of the XR, the chief radiologist noted that the fractures shown were not recent fractures and were quite vague. Dr. Sadock and the chief radiologist then reviewed the history of my past chest XRs and MRIs and found that the exact same vague fracture lines were shown in a 2013 MRI. The fact that there was no change over a 10-year period avoided additional research to explain these seemingly spontaneous rib fractures.

In summary, I would absolutely recommend Dr. Sadock and his team at Pilot Rock Medical Navigators to anyone who is in need of prompt, caring and highly professional medical guidance.

Laurie and Michael N.

We have personally known Bob Sadock for more than 30 years.  Bob and his wife have been wonderful neighbors and friends over the years.

Fortunately for us Bob has also been a great resource and support during some very trying times.

About 9 years ago my husband had an incident and was taken to the emergency room.  I was told to bring him home and make an appointment to follow up with a neurologist.  There was no explanation and it wasn't until the next morning when I reached out to his primary (who was out of the office for 2 weeks) that I was told he had had a stroke.  I will not go further with the details of the Berkshire County debacle.  Suffice it to say, I was at my wit's end spinning my wheels, terrified and trying to get him in to see a neurologist.

I called Dr Bob.  I explained the situation, Bob said where do you want to go?  Albany? Springfield?, Boston? New York?  I said you tell me where and when and I will get him there.  He called me back and said you have an appointment with Dr Feske (Bob said the best of the best, and we concur!) at Brigham and Women’s in Boston.  I asked, what time?  He said, when you get there,... I knew then that we were in good hands!  I was so relieved as was my family!

Bob has helped me navigate colon cancer and both of us a number of other issues.  We are forever grateful for him!  Bob, although seemingly a miracle worker, is a great human being with an enormous network of people and associates that respect him and work with him and in combination, they perform miracles!

 Thank-you, Dr. Bob!
